Directions Pro
A direction moves every natal point by the same arc, which grows by about a degree per year of life. When a directed point reaches an aspect to a natal point, that period is considered significant.
Directions on the wheel
In “More → Forecast”:
| Method | How the points move |
|---|---|
| Solar arc direction | By the arc the progressed Sun has traveled (about 1° a year) |
| True direction | Rotation around the celestial pole, about 1° of right ascension a year, as in ZET |
| Converse true direction | The same, backward |
| Zodiacal direction (1°/year) | Exactly 1° of ecliptic longitude a year |
| Profection (30°/year) | 30° a year, a full circle every 12 years |
Choose a method, set “Forecast for (local)” and click “Build chart”.
Exact solar arc directions for 10 years
With “Solar arc direction” selected, a table appears under the sections: exact major aspects from directed points to natal planets, ASC and MC for 10 years from the forecast date. A row opens a three-ring wheel: natal, solar arc and transits on that date.
Primary directions
The “Primary directions” section under the wheel. It's the oldest forecasting technique and uses the daily rotation of the sky after birth.
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| key | “Ptolemy (1° = 1 year)” or “Naibod” (0°59'08" a year) |
| secondary motion | Account for the promissor's own motion during the arc (on) |
| converse | Also list converse directions |
Table columns: “Age”, “Date”, “Promissor” (the moving planet), “Aspect”, “Significator” (the planet or angle it reaches), “Arc”. A row opens transits on that date.
