Arabic parts and the lot catalogue Pro

A lot (Arabic part) comes from a formula: Ascendant plus one point minus another. The best known is the Part of Fortune.

The “Arabic parts” section

Twelve core lots:

• Hellenistic, from Valens and Paulus Alexandrinus: Fortune, Spirit, Eros, Necessity, Courage, Victory, Nemesis;
• common modern ones: Marriage, Children, Father, Mother, Profession.

In a night chart most lots swap their terms. Fortune by day is ASC + Moon − Sun; by night it's ASC + Sun − Moon.

Your own lot

1. Type a name in “Custom part”.
2. Choose points A and B in the formula “ASC + A − B”.
3. Leave “reverse at night” checked if A and B should swap in a night chart.
4. Click “Add”.

Custom lots are stored in this browser. “Remove custom” deletes all of them.

Lot catalogue

The catalogue holds 182 lots: Al-Biruni's 97 lots of the planets and houses, his tables of lots for weather, commodities and horary questions, the lots of Paulus and Hermes, and popular modern ones.

To find one:

• “search”: part of the name, in English or Russian;
• “topic”, “sign”, “house”: filters;
• “conjunctions only”: lots within 1° of a natal planet, ASC or MC;
• “by degree”: sort by position around the circle.
